Work Experience:

January 2004 until present: Senior writer, The Asian Banker.  Research, write and edit articles on the financial services in Asia, with a focus on the banks of East Asia, as well as regional developments in payment systems, credit bureaux, and branch banking.  Articles range from 50-word perspectives and short e-newsletter pieces to cover features or 16-page special reports.  Travel to banking conferences internationally, arrange and conduct interviews with senior bankers up to the level of CEO.  Provide commentary on news spots for banking-related stories on CNBC Asia and BBC. 

November 2003: Established locally incorporated company, called En Ideas

May 2003 to December 2003: Freelance writer, Singapore.  Wrote, edited, and translated for a wide variety of firms, among them John Wiley & Sons, ATEC Translation, Kendo World, Men's Health, Golf, Golf Vacations, Motherhood, First, Montage Editions, Frequent Traveller, and several local educational publishers. 

March 2003: published second issue of Head Cheese magazine (40 pages).  Responsible for all design, layout, editing, and for writing half of the magazine’s content.

August 2002 to April 2003: Japanzine magazine.  Music editor.   Responsible for corresponding with music related parties (organizers, venue managers, band managers) and other writers to maintain monthly music columns and extensive events listings for print and internet version.  

June 2002: published first issue of Head Cheese magazine (76 pages).  Responsible for all design, layout, editing, and for writing half of the magazine’s content

April 1999 to April 2003: Seibo Hishoten Primary School , Mino-o, Japan.  English teacher.  Responsible for teaching English curriculum to twelve full classes of students from grades one to six.  Duties include designing curriculum, giving tests, grading and evaluating student progress.
